Without a Bushfire Threat Assessment how do you know which Construction Level to comply with?
Home building on Bushfire Prone Lands
You want your plans to pass through your Council with minimum delay so that your home approval is the realization of your dream and not a nightmare. Your Council will be unable to accept your application unless you include the Bushfire Threat Assessment because Council requires the Assessment to ascertain which Construction Level is to be complied with.
Your home design and construction and subsequent safety from bushfire will benefit from the requirements of Australian Standard 3959 – 1999 pertaining to Bushfire Prone Land.
Australian Standard 3959 – 1999 must be considered and implemented with your project if applicable.
Prior to completing your Bushfire Threat Assessment for a Flame Zone the inclusion of the local Rural Fire Service (NSW) Development Control Officer in a site inspection is often desirable
